How to Style a Flow Haircut

What Is a Flow Haircut?

The flow is all about medium-to-long length hair that flows naturally from the crown down to the back and sides — usually pushed back or tucked behind the ears.

It’s soft, confident, and grows in beautifully over time. Best part? It works great on straight, wavy, or slightly curly hair.

Step 1: Start with Fresh, Damp Hair

Towel dry until hair is about 70–80% dry.

You want it damp enough to shape, but not soaking.

💡 Pro Tip: Spray on a light layer of Pyrosso Sea Salt Spray to add natural texture and volume. Let it absorb for 30–60 seconds before blow-drying.

Step 2: Blow-Dry for Natural Flow

The goal here is direction and looseness, not stiffness.

  1. Use your fingers or a vent brush.

  2. Blow-dry your hair backwards and away from the face.

  3. For volume at the crown, lift hair while drying and let it fall naturally.

Don’t over-style — you want a shape that feels natural and effortless.

Step 3: Apply Pyrosso’s Komodo Clay

This is where the flow becomes controlled chaos — stylish, yet undone.

  1. Scoop a small amount of Komodo Clay.

  2. Rub thoroughly in your palms until soft and smooth.

  3. Apply by finger-combing through your hair, starting from the middle and working toward the ends.

Avoid the roots if you want more movement.

Use a little extra at the back or sides to tame bulk or flyaways.

Step 4: Refine the Look

Now you define your vibe:

  • Want it polished? Tuck it behind the ears and smooth the top with your fingers.

  • Want it rugged? Shake it out and let the ends fall where they may.

  • Need hold? Add a touch more clay to high-friction areas like the fringe or crown.

Maintenance Tips

  • Trim every 6–8 weeks to remove bulk and keep the shape.

  • Use dry shampoo in between washes to maintain volume and separation.

  • Let your hair air dry occasionally to keep it healthy and prevent heat damage.
