What Is a Quiff?
The quiff blends the volume of a pompadour, the texture of a crop, and the structure of a side part. It’s all about creating lift at the front, sweeping the hair upward and slightly back for a bold silhouette.
You can wear it clean and sculpted, or messy and effortless — depending on your vibe.
Step 1: Start with Clean, Damp Hair
After washing, towel dry until your hair is about 70% dry.
💡 Pro Tip: For extra lift, prep with Pyrosso’s Sea Salt Spray (launching soon). It adds grit, volume, and hold — a perfect foundation before heat styling.
Step 2: Blow-Dry for Volume
The key to a great quiff is directional blow-drying:
-
Use a round brush or vent brush.
-
Pull hair upward and slightly back as you dry.
-
Focus on the roots — that’s where volume is built.
You can also flip your head forward while drying the front for extra lift, then shape it into place once dry.
Step 3: Apply Komodo Clay for Hold & Texture
Now it’s time to lock it in.
-
Scoop out a small amount of Pyrosso’s Komodo Clay.
-
Rub it between your palms until completely emulsified.
-
Apply to dry hair, starting from the back and sides, working forward into the quiff.
Use your fingers to push the front section up and back, sculpting it with controlled texture. Want it looser? Use just your fingertips. Want it defined? Grab a comb and refine the shape.
Step 4: Detail & Finish
Pinch the front edges for added separation or height. You can also:
-
Sweep the quiff slightly to one side for asymmetry.
-
Tuck the sides in for a clean outline.
-
Leave a few pieces loose for a natural, lived-in feel.
Final Tips
-
Get regular trims every 2–4 weeks to keep the shape.
-
Use a texturizing powder on second-day hair if you want to refresh volume without rewashing.
-
Don’t overload product — a little Komodo Clay goes a long way.
